Anyone knows if Alstrasoft’s E-Friend program is good community website script?
I am trying to build a community networking website with some special function. I need a base script to build the website so I dont need to begin from group up. Can anyone please tell me if Alstrasoft’s E-Friend program is good for it. like fully customizable and adding other functions or other misc capabilities.

A website building program grants you more control on how to build your website, whereas a website script is pre-arranged only to grant you to do certain tasks when build your website. It is just like a game script which is pre-programmed to make non-player characters to perform a specific task solely for its own purpose and you do not have control what so ever.

Is there a program or script that I can use to update a site from the site itself?
I’m running a tournament site and I can easily update a website but is there a program or script that I can use to update a site from the site itself so I can have other people with limited web design knowledge do it easily? It would just be text, so I need a control panel where they could log in and fill in some text fields and submit it. This will bypass the need to log in through ftp and have access to the entire site.

This would require someone with software and programming skills to implement this tool. Basically you want a membership tool where people can register (much like wikipedia or a blog) where it can be more interactive. It’s a lot more complicated than it seems.

I would recommend finding a programmer with these skills or think about using something like WordPress where you can set up user accounts in blog-style to edit content.

Hi There,

I’m going to assume you are using a mac running something earlier than OS X. If you are not, I would advocate installing Celtx it’s free and a great program to write scripts in.

If I am write try copy and pasting your script in to Scripped.com’s free on the web screenwriting program. It’s not perfect but will give you an idea of where you are as far as page count goes.
