I am creating a website in java script \ HTML and I need a advanced background code….please help?
I need to know the entire code for making any background image on a website fit to the users resolution. I went on my personal and since i had such higher resolution on mine that i do on a different computer, it made the image repeat itself on the web page. anyways i need the code for automatically resizing or fitting the background image to the users resolution. PLEASE HELP…thanks so much.

You can’t. You can only resize using the image tag. The background CSS attribute is just about placement inside an element and how it repeats itself.

BUT, you can put an element over top another element with the img tag in which the image’s width and height are 100%

You just have to take advantage of z-index and position: absolute or position: relative. Then adjust the position of the element acting as the overlay using left: and top:

this is like the fourth time i’ve asked this question. i really need help. i’ve done all the obvious things people have told me to do and researched it, but i cannot find anything. thanks to whoever can help me fix my computer.

How to Create Java Script?
I downloaded the “Java Development Kit” from Oracles website, now I have no idea what to do with it. There is no .exe file to run, on my desktop or in the folder within C:/.

I’ve been searching various support sites and trying different downloads for the last couple of hours.

So to simplify my question; how, or superior yet, WHERE do I write my java script code?

I’m trying to learn to create games in java script, and I can find tutorials for writing script and such, but I do not even know where do begin writing script. Is there some program that I just cannot find? Am I supposed to write the script in notepad or something and then run it with something else?

Help! Thanks.

I have not used JDK, but you should make sure if you are looking to do javascript coding that the JDK is actually helpful with that. Java programming and Javascript programming aren’t the same thing.

If you are trying to do javascript coding for something appearing in a web page, just make a normal text file and go at it. in your html, add

My Java is updated but my XP’s world wide web still will not display videos and many websites. Ideas?
My computer/internet has been acting strangely for the past couple of weeks. I can go to Youtube, but the video boxes are blank and they will not play. A lot of websites (facebook, my yahoo email, etc) will have the top line of script, but the rest of the page will be blank. Some sites will let me enter my username and password, but after I press enter, it takes me back to that exact page with the boxes empty again. I just updated my Java (although under world wide web options, it was already enabled) but it still is not working. I am only able to type this via a different computer. Any ideas?

I’m taking a personal class and our group has been given this problem:

The discussion assignment assumes that we have an earth that is a perfectly round and smooth sphere with a rope going around it at the equator such that it fits very snugly. Your group is to define a JavaScript web site that will prompt for a height of a wall in terms of feet. The program then should compute how many feet must be added to the rope so that if a wall of that height were constructed around the equator, the rope will then snugly fit on top of the wall.

Our group has pondered for days and we cannot even come up with the math equation let alone writing a java script code for it.

Please help with the math and Java!

Now, as for the javascript that you need, that is different. Try the homework yourself first if you want to have any hope of passing the course.

Mathwise: Picture concentric circles. The inner circle is the original earth. The outer circle is the earth plus fence. The difference in RADIUS is the height of the fence. Clue ends here. good luck!
