Depending on your family's financial status, you may qualify for the Work-Study program at your college. It's a form of financial aid that allows students to work on-campus for pay that they can use for "whatever" - you get the paycheck directly, it doesn't go to the school towards tuition or anything like that. Shoot, I worked in my college pub! The downside is that you're limited to 20 hours per week. Another option would be to ask your financial aid office or department head about internships or paid research positions.
Good luck to you, and congratulations on knowing what career you want! It's a tough thing for most people...

WOW!!! i think that if you want to do something, nothing will get in your way! you really want to be a video game designer, and i think you can do it! you go girl! theres not many female game designers out there and i'm sure that they'll try to get as many as they can
the best job for you at college would have to be something small like working at the local shops or being a receptionist at real-estate agent. Most of my friends work in local shops e.g. fruit and veggies, bookstores, cafes and its not that stressful at all
If your living in Australia, you can go to seek.com or mycarreer.com
try looking in the newspapers for any jobs and make sure ur resume is good
goodluck with your dream job :)

You can start learning C++ with these video tutorials:
http://xoax.net/comp/cpp/console/index.php

They are perfect for beginners. This one can get you started by showing you how to install a free compiler:
http://xoax.net/comp/cpp/console/Lesson0.php

Here are some simple games with code downloads that you can use to get some ideas:
http://xoax.net/comp/cpp/console/Lesson9.php
http://xoax.net/comp/cpp/console/Lesson23.php
http://xoax.net/comp/cpp/console/Lesson29.php

These tutorials can get you started with graphics programming in OpenGL:
http://xoax.net/comp/cpp/opengl/index.php

You can go through the tutorials and if you have questions on them or anything else in C++, please post to me here:
http://xoax.net/forum/

Best of luck!

C was developed at Bell Labs in 1972 and is a a compiled language little different from Python and other scripting languages. A C program must be "compliled" or turned into something the computer understands (an executable code object), which is then run.

Python and scripted languages are interpreted languages, which means that the script you write is turned into something the computer understands every time it runs. That has the advantage of not needing compilation, but overall can run slower than a compiled program.

You might be best off learning Python. C is still used for some applications, but Python is widely used for web development and modern computers are fast enough interpreted languages for most situations. C fell out of favor for most applications in the 1990's when C++ came along.

There are plenty of beginner level Python books to get you started:

C programming a basic programming language that includes the very fundumentals of programming. It was used to create the C++ language, a more advanced and more widely used programming language. If you want to learn the basics then you can go to:
http://www.cprogramming.com/

Really if you want to learn programming be prepared to spend alot of time studying the language cause it takes alot of time and energy. If you're not prepared for that then I wouldn't even start learning it.

if you are flash mx 2004 pro or above then when you publish the movie it automatically generates html pages for those (very few) without the plug-in or without a version that your file requires.

just alter the content of those extra html pages

You should have been using a template you made for your site. CSS is for presentation of you pages. It governs the look of them, not what gets placed where automatically.

I think you need to do the editing locally on your computer and then upload the edited file with FTP.
