Mcafee may be the cause of your problems it may not be. Some times with Security programs, there are conflicts. Those can be hard to find. There are many reasons for this. But mostly it’s because of the way that computer is set up. It doesn’t mean Mcafee is a bad program, it’s just one of those things. I would suggest you uninstall Mcafee and see if it’s the problem. If so, just try something else. But don’t buy another one. Norton, Kaspersky, Eset Smart Security all offer free trials. So try before you buy. Also if you decide not to use Mcafee, you should get the mcafee unistall tool from mcafee. This will clean out Mcafee from your system and your new software will have a better chance of working.

McAfee sucks ass. Our family computer had McAfee on it & someone clicked onto a virus ridden site, & our computer was taken over by a trojan immediately. Go Norton. If you don’t want to, I would then suggest Webroot Internet Security. You are just wasting time becoming frustrated with a Security Program that doesn’t even work.

If your files are a static (and not dynamic) then you can directly hardcode the path in anchor tag using “href”. Mime type for the document should be put in web.xml file if you are using web servers like apache. So that the browser can identify the mime type of the document and when the user chooses to download it will give u the option to open the file in some editor or reader of that document say Adobe reader.

Do these :- (suppose you want to go to answers.yahoo.com)

1. Choose Run from the start menu
2. Type “IEXPLORE ANSWERS.YAHOO.COM” (only is you have IE)
3. Click OK

The Internet Explorer pops up with Yahoo! Answers
This can be done for Internet Explorer
If you are using FireFox or others do this:-

1. Open the browser
2. Hit Alt + Ctrl + Del
3. Note the name of the file that is running your browser (How? If you are using Win XP then click the Processes Tab and Click the Mem Usage Heading till the contents arange in acending order with the amount of memory usage. The first item will be the file running the browser. If you are using othe Win then on the same Alt + Ctrl + Del window the first task will be the file running your browser.)
4. Open Run in Start
5. Type the file name (without .exe)(suppose the file name was frfox) “FRFOX ANSWERS.YAHOO.COM”
6. Hit OK

The browser pops up with Yahoo! Answers in it.

This holds good for any existing url
