Authentic Ed Hardy clothes?
So I got these tops/tunics/dresses or whatever you want to call them the other day from a friend. I have been researching the various differences between authentic and fake ones for a few hours now and I am more confused than ever. They both are older designs as I cannot find them anywhere online. One has the bull dog on the tag and it seems to match up with the authentic ones. It has TM next to Ed Hardy on it and I have stumbled across some sites that stated it should only have R while some state authentic ones can have TM on them. It has rhinestones on it and they aren’t on the design in some places. I compared them to the tops with rhinestones on them on Ed Hardy’s website and like my dress, some of them are off the design. I looked at the micro stitched tag with the serial number on the inside and it matches up with the authentic ones.

The second dress is a little different. The serial number tag looks authentic but the tag at the top of the neck seems suspicious. Rather than being the long white tag with the bull dog and size, it is black and horizontal with Ed Hardy(in script) and by Christian Audigier in gold with a rose next to it. From my understanding, authentic tags should only have the bull dog with the checkered hat and yellow collar on it. The rhinestones on this one also veer off of the design a little bit, though not as much. If it is authentic would they be glued or sewn on? And they are plain whiteish/silver. Should they have different colors in them when reflected in the light?

I’m curious because I have heard Ed Hardy doesn’t have the ideal quality control and I have received conflicting information from all of the guides online.

There’s so many Ed Hardy replicas. If your friend was selling them in bulk, for a cheap price, they are most likely fake. It also sounds suspicious that you cannot find the designs online. If it’s fake, the rhinestones will fall off pretty swift and the material will be poor quality.

The safest way to make sure you are getting authenic Ed Hardy clothing, is to purchase from a major department store.
