To start sign up for a google account or if you have one already that is ok. Then go to adsense through My Account. Sign up. Before you do this I would create and build up your blog or website. I would suggest Blogger.com because it is free, easy to use, and associated with Google already. Create a blog or website about something you know about well. Add a lot of content or information to your site and make it high quality. When you sign up for adsense it will ask what your blog or website url is. This is so it links you/your adsense account to the blog or website that you will be putting the ads on.
Using blogger, when you are in the layouts it lets you build your site through tabs. By clicking add a gadget, adsense is one of the options.
