Blogger does accept scripts.
You click add widget, html/javascript, and then you cut and paste the code you need.
Do not put it in the template html as that is written in xml and will be considered not to be well formed.
Also, they have an adsense widget specifically.

Well, thats an awkward thing to happen, and such situations generally point to some sort of virus/trojan/spywares.
You can check out the System Configuration utility to know if something unwanted is being invoked along with system startup.
For that, type msconfig in the Run dialog box, and jump onto Services or Startup tab and identify if there’s something which seems fishy or you don’t know about.
As for missing taskbar and desktop icons, try creating a new user in your pc, and log into see if it works well, in case some malicious software or app might have been installed on your existing user.
It’s not a commonplace error, so don’t really have any specific solutions for it, but I can offer to help you out remotely using Teamviewer ( http://www.teamviewer.com ) If you are interested, you can drop me a mail or IM.
Do scan your pc with antivirus/antispyware softwares, if you have any.
Also download comodo firewall(its free) and see what it has to show you.
Edit:
I guess WSH popup has something to do with a registry setting as well.
Open the following Value in regedit(Run dialog):
Hkey_local_machineSoftwareMicrosoftWindowsNTcurrentversionWinlogon
Therein you’d find a Value called userinit.
Edit that and if you find something like this :
“C:WINDOWSsystem32userinit.exe, C:WINDOWSsystem32wscript.exe ” – delete the “C:WINDOWSsystem32wscript.exe” part.
Save it and restart your machine.
BTW – Although this change may not have any drastic effect, it would be wise to backup your registry before doing it, to be on the safer side.
Let us know if it works.

That’s because you’re not properly inserting the code. You need to copy/paste the AdSense code as it’s found on the AdSense site.
